Job Summary:

•This role reports via the local Head of Equipment Quality for all quality matters. In this way the Quality Assurance requirements of all Equipment programmes are co-ordinated and directed and remain independent and have unimpeded access to top management.
•The EPAE is a `key’ designated core team project role with excellent exposure to a variety of activities within the Space industry.
•The EPAE will liaise with the customer representatives and subcontractors, providing opportunities to grow their network and experience within the space industry.
•The EPAE has the authority to resolve all matters pertaining to quality including the right to suspend any activities that appear to jeopardise the quality of the program until a satisfactory resolution has been achieved. The EPAE will be a part of the extended team of QA engineers and specialists in the field of Software engineering quality and Functional Avionics and report into the project core team the status of their activities.
•The successful candidate shall be able to work autonomously within the project team but where necessary has the right to refer any matter to the Head of Equipment’s Quality for resolution.
•Typical tasks at SQE level include:
•Definition of the quality objectives and the Project Software Quality Assurance Baseline, producing the applicable Software Quality Assurance Plan, Project Standards and Quality Operational Procedures.
•Supporting the Software Delivery Manager in the definition and the implementation of the overall software project processes, in the definition of the development logic and in the choice of methods and tools to be used.
•Assessment of the Software Processes and the quality of the various items of the Software Product through quality inspections, reviews, audits, collection and analysis of metrics.
•Support and possibly chair reviews (e.g. PDR, CDR, TRR, TRB, DRB).
•QA Approval of all documentation.
•Assessment and reporting on the quality of the Software Product and Processes, in periodic reports and in the specific reports allocated to the Reviews.
•Management of the interface with the internal and/or external customer on Software Quality matters in agreement with the Software Delivery Manager.
•The SQE is a key factor in process improvement by suggesting improvement actions and participating in their implementation within the project.


Skills/Experience:

•A background in Software Product Assurance or directly comparable experience within the Space, Aerospace or high-tech sectors
•Knowledge/experience of high quality /complex manufacturing - in a high scrutiny environment
•Experience of Software quality requirement implementation and adherence
•Experience of complex assemblies, Software and Hardware interaction, low volume processes

Desirable :

•ECSS qualification Q70/08/28/38
•An understanding of FPGA and ASIC space applications and quality requirements
