Systems Engineer , 3 months (rolling) contract (Hants)

This leading aerospace provider are seeking a contract systems engineer to support a new programme, responsibilities include:

1.To work in a small multi-disciplined team, supporting the mechanical, hardware/qualification and software engineers with management of system-level requirements, design, test activities and management of the safety case

2.To manage assigned work packages, liaising and supporting customer deliveries, including preparation and presentation of materiel for stage and technical reviews, both internal and external.

3.To work on, and deliver, one or more projects running concurrently

4.To capture, analyse and manage customer requirements in accordance with standards, legislation, human factors, safety and business requirements

5.To write requirements and design specifications addressing all system aspects including mechanical, software, hardware, and hardware qualification

6.To write system test plans and procedures to verify and validate system requirements to secure product acceptance, meeting all mandated standards

7.To conduct system testing and write formal reports


Requirements:

1.Experience within an aerospace environment (or similar) ; experience in electronic equipment and/or software design using a formal project lifecycle approach with gate and independent peer reviews

2.Knowledge and experience in aircraft systems, including standard interfaces such as ARINC429, RS-422 and MIL-STD-1553. Experience in flight display systems is preferred

3.Experience with, and application of, the aerospace standards and specifically RTCA/DO-178B and/or DO-254

4.Experience with requirements management tools and their use to provide bi-directional traceability through design and test elements

5.Familiarity with safety, availability, reliability and maintainability analysis and human factors for flight display systems

6.Familiarity with aircraft certification requirements and supporting documentation

7.Experience with managing and supporting the customer through design reviews, audits and negotiation of technical issues

8.Experience with systems testing, writing test plans, procedures and reports, using bespoke rig systems and scripting languages

9.Experience with the use of formal configuration management and issue management /reporting systems
