Our client, one of the top 3 European Space and Satellite companies are looking for an Electrical EGSE Engineer to join there team in Germany on a permanent or contract basis.

During the construction and test phase of a satellite the AIT department (Assembly, Integration & Test) holds one of the major roles. As Electrical EGSE Engineer you would usually work within a small team responsible for all EGSE activities within the AIT support function for a satellite project. The electrical ground test system (EGSE - Electrical Ground Support Equipment) ensures the energy supply during the construction and test phase of a satellite and offers support by processing measurement data and telemetry, sending telecommunication commands as well as by developing and validating (flight-) procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Responsibility for the whole electrical ground test environment incl. the IT infrastructure
- Planning and execution of inspection and integration of a satellite in regards to the relevant EGSE
- Preparation and conduction of test campaigns on system and sub-system level
- Set-up and operation of test equipment
- Definition and implementation of system tests of ground segment and satellite
- Working in cleanrooms and participation in satellite tests (usually within Europe) and launch campaigns (world-wide)
- Documentation and reporting

Qualification:

- Degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering, information technology, space technology, physics or other engineering field
- Several years of professional experience in Electrical AIT for satellites or EGSE preferable
- Good knowledge of software applications like Active Directory, Citrix and VMWare and ideally of satellite control systems (CCS) and scripting language TOPE
- Hands-on attitude and motivation to work in a project spanning several years
- You are a strong team player with good communication skills as well as analytical and conceptual skills
- Participation in longer test and launch campaigns at European and international sites, working in cleanrooms and doing shift work if necessary are a must
- Willingness to work in international teams and very good written and spoken English language skills, German language skills are advantageous
