Your Tasks:

•Determination of all applicable requirements from mission, function, environmental conditions, verification, AIT, product assurance for the satellite-/ instrument structure design
•Development of spacecraft / instrument configurations and accommodation under consideration of alternative concepts for the primary, secondary and tertiary structures
•Conception, design, development and construction of the mechanical light-weighted structures and the corresponding MGSE/OGSE concepts as well as definition of an optimal structural design solution in cooperation with MTP/OMTS System Engineering, Optics, Electrical Engineering, AIT, Harness and structural and thermal analysis
•Concept, design, development and construction of optic mechanisms, robotics subsystems and opto-mechanical / ISO-static mounts, taking into account all optical, structural and thermal requirements as also performances
•Implementation of all requirements from the MTP / OMTS architects, structural analysts and electronics into the mechanical spacecraft / instrument design including implementation of the respective 3D harness routing
•Determination of the structural masses and performance of the spacecraft / instrument gravity and moment of inertia analysis
•Creation and maintenance of structure-specific documents for the spacecraft / instrument and MGSE/OGSE
•Preparation of all drawings and structural manufacturing documents for the projects
•Definition and analysis of integration envelopes with corresponding documentation and creation of interface requirement drawings (IRD) for all instrument subsystems including mirrors, beam splitters, optical apertures, detectors, mechanisms, control electronics, thermal hardware etc.
•Generation of the spacecraft / instrument 3D Harness Routing in cooperation with Harness Design including creation of the Harness manufacturing documents and installation drawings
•Procurement/Definition of standard parts, raw materials, primary, secondary and tertiary structures as well as mechanical and optical ground support equipment, either as "build to print" (including responsibility for the implementation of production management, supervision and control) or as "build to spec" (including technical support of the procurement department in obtaining offers and placing orders as well as responsibility for technical production supervision)
•Support of AIT in the development of sequences and planning for assembly, integration, environmental test activities and launch preparation as well as cooperation in the preparation of procedures for all the models (e.g. STM, PFM, FMs)
•Support for the justification of design deviations and incorporation of changes in the design according to RFD/RFW (Request for Deviation/Waiver) and NCR (Non Conformance Report) process
•Technical management of a project team for the complete and / or detailed design
•Support of reviews (system to component level) and presentation of work results / progress internally and in front internal and external customers
•Support proposals and technical studies
•Support in the definition, development and maintenance of processes, tools, facilities and technologies within the department area
•Creation of mechanical tolerance analysis at instrument level, subsystem level and part level according to the system requirements
•Temporarily or permanently other reasonable and equivalent activities according to existing knowledge and skills


Your Qualifications:

•Completed studies in mechanical engineering, preferably with a specialization in aerospace engineering or equivalent qualification
•Professional experience in lightweight structures, differential, integral and sandwich construction
•Good knowledge of CAD programmes
•Well-structured and organized working method, High degree of initiative, High willingness to cooperate, Good communication skills
•Convincing and self-confident appearance
•Result orientation, Cost awareness, Early detection and avoidance of technical risk
