Senior Optical Engineer

Duties:
 Conceptual design, including trade-offs
 First Order optical design
 Detailed Optical Design comprising of aberrations and physical optical properties
 Definition of optical specifications, including tolerances
 Tolerance analyes
 Straylight analyses
 Support to STOP analyses process (Structural-Thermal-Optical-Performances analyses)
 Support to coating design
 Polarization and transmission analyses
 Establish technical documentation like design and analysisreports, specifications documents, technical
proposal volumes
 Support to optical systemsintegration and testing
 Definition and guidance for qualification processes of optical components according to applicable
standards
 Collaboration in a multidisciplinary team, e.g., for mechanical, optomechanical,thermal and electrooptics aspects
 Contribute product design configuration maintenance (EBOM)
 Liaise with line manager and project core team
Your Qualifications
 Degree in Physics or equivalent with relevant experience in the optical system design and development
or in similar positions in the area of optical equipment design and simulation.
 Sound knowledge of Zemax simulation tool;
 knowledge of CodeV is of advantage
 Basic knowledge of straylight analysis;
 knowledge of ASAP or FRED is of advantage
 5+ years’ industry experience (space industry is an advantage)
 Excellent conceptual and analytical skills
 Strong communication skills and capability of working in international environment
 Problem solving attitude
 Ability to communicate fluently in both spoken and written English
 Pronounced self-motivation and commitment
 Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
