The Role:



You will join the Hub Engineering team who are managing a suite of partner technologies covering Newtech, iDirect, Gilat, and Hughes. As Principal Hub Engineer, your responsibilities lie with managing the full engineering lifecycle. As an experienced ‘hub’ expert you will support strategy, engineering design, implementation plans, engineering audits, operational support, and continuous service improvement. Additionally, as an expert and leader you will be key in resolving major incidents and restoring customer services. Crucially, as Principal Hub Engineer you will take the lead driving special initiatives, organising tasks across teams and providing specialist support. Using you experience in the field, you will play a pivotal role delivering new solutions by working across multiple areas of the business.



Day-to-Day:



Act as a Technical Centre of Excellence for Hub technology Newtech/iDirect/Gilat/Hughes
Partner with System Engineers to design/plan new solutions, technology roadmaps and projects
Providing expert technical expertise to resolve complex platform and customer experience issues
Design and build innovative monitoring and maintenance procedures for institutionalised operations
Drive engineering audits to ensure compliance with design considerations and golden parameters
Design continual service improvement measures for hub infrastructure management
Conduct engineering analysis to improve service efficiency for optimum use of Hub resources
Lead complex engineering pilots and trials with customers
Oversee all major incidents RCA, customer reports, and knowledge artifacts
Leverage and manage engineering labs for RCAs, new solutions, and new technology integration
Custodian of the Hub Data Model and Hub design authority
Grow team capabilities by providing leadership and mentoring for less experienced team members.


Who are we looking for?



An engineer with 10 years of relevant experience holding either a relevant degree or possessing equivalent practical experience
3+ years L3 specialist experience with Hub Tech OEMs or Satellite Operators
5+ years of experience in running hub technology operations
Strong understanding of e2e satellite communications engineering – from RF chain to networking
Demonstrable leadership experience in managing technology partners and customers
Network Operations Centre (NOC) experience within a Satellite communications or Telecoms environment
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of network engineering tools, LAN/WAN technologies, Internet protocols, and applications
Strong competency to handle both strategic and operational topics
Strong cross-functional stakeholder management & result-oriented account management skills.
Strong knowledge of telecom architecture, e2e customer operations processes, delivery through BSS/OSS and Enterprise technology landscape.
Understanding of Operations Centers, Terminals, Hub, Network, and Gateway technologies – HP, iDirect, Newtec, Gilat, Hughes, Juniper, Sandvine, Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, Parallel Wireless.
