As the Systems Engineer you will be part of the Satellite team in the Space function of the business who are responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of various tasks including transmission planning, payload configuration, optimisation, and contingency planning. The Systems Engineer position is a crucial technical role which can be based in either London or Cyprus. Your main responsibility will be managing spectrum resources, overseeing communication payload, and handling satellite communication engineering tasks. You will need to have previous experience conducting link analysis, dimensioning, and troubleshooting in order to support operational objectives.
You will be suitable due to:
Your proactive nature, ability to take ownership of tasks, and meticulous attention to detail.
Your relevant degree in engineering or physics showcasing your strong academic background.
Your extensive knowledge of satellite communication and telecom products demonstrating your expertise in the field.
Your experience in a satellite operations environment, focusing on satellite communications engineering, transmission planning, and link design and analysis.
Your familiarity with Ka-band satellite operations, while not required, would be an added advantage.
Your proficiency in link budget analysis and strong grasp of RF and digital communications.
Your excellent communication skills in English, essential for writing comprehensive reports and engaging with customers.
Your experience in commissioning and testing satellite systems is an additional benefit that adds to your skill set.
Communications Payload Engineering
Link budget analysis
Payload Redundancy Strategy planning and processes
Preparation of operational processes documentation
Defining and communicating detailed operational activity plans, scheduling, and overseeing activity execution.
Coordinating between all Technology functions as required for system-wide operations.
Conducting end-to-end link RF performance analysis, investigation, and troubleshooting, including satellite and ground segment elements (Gateway and User Terminal).
Monitoring and analysing system performance, identifying potential issues, conducting root cause analysis, and proposing mitigation/correction steps.
Reviewing user terminal specifications in coordination for provision of access permission on the satellite network.
Providing technical support to the Products and Pre-Sales teams/functions, including reviewing and decomposing end-user requirements and assessing how those can best be met in terms of link design and dimensioning.
Providing technical support to the Sales, Strategy, and Marketing teams/functions.
Contributing to the development, maintenance, and improvement of existing and planned SRM software tools used for modelling and simulation of end-to-end system performance.
