The Role:



As Solutions Architect you will design complex and critical satellite networks that exist globally. You will liaise with customers as a subject matter expert adept at understanding customer and business requirements. You will configure bespoke solutions to meet customer needs whilst supporting the sales team in closing new opportunities and expanding existing customers.


Day-to-Day:



Develop and present solution demonstrations and proof-of-concept campaigns and answer technical questions about the capabilities and features of company products for complex and bespoke requirements.
Understand customer requirements at a system level and translate these into appropriate technology designs that meet the customers’ needs.
Ensure the viability of the proposed solution and provide direction, advice, and guidance on the appropriate approach to the solution throughout the project, working in conjunction with other technical teams, subject matter experts, and project managers.
Maintain and enhance the current system-level design of the company using models and creative processes to enable new solution designs within the company system, both on the ground and in space.
Create documentation for solution design, configuration, testing, and results analysis for new and existing technologies.
Maintain awareness of technology trends – both in space and on the ground – and assist in the development of new products.
Ensure technical solutions are feasible and can deliver against Service Level Agreements.
Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and management of the satellite system by actively keeping up-to-date the design details, analysis, and architecture of the company satellite fleet and ground systems in the Satellite System Wiki.
Support major anomaly and incident investigations as the engineering design authority.
Work on complex link budget designs on the company’s fleet to support different verticals of business.




You will be suitable due to:



Your experience and knowledge of architecture, design, development, and testing of complex satellite communications systems and solutions.
Possessing an appropriate engineering or science degree.
Expertise in satellite communications systems engineering, with a specialization in GEO satellite communications.
Proficiency in SATCOMs link design principles and hands-on experience with different link budget tools.
Sound understanding of risk management and ITIL principles.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in designing and integrating multiband satellite communications systems.
Capability to review and challenge suppliers on their technical products, reports, and observed performance.
Understanding the nuances of system limitations and behaviours at the system level.
A strong understanding of baseband technologies, including iDirect, Gilat, Newtec, Comtech.
In-depth understanding of networking principles, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 network designs.
Experience in leading and delivering complex systems programs and the ability to work with potential suppliers to understand the benefits, performance, and growth paths for their product.
Ability to work within and sometimes lead a small team to complete the required accountabilities professionally and in a timely manner.
Proficiency in producing reports and presentations clearly depicting analysis and suggestions to stakeholders, both internally and externally.
A strong command of the English language (both written and verbal).
