Our client is seeking a Product Owner Simulator (m/f/d) for European Space-based Defence Projects. In the field of defence systems, our client leads several large-scale projects, including multinational development initiatives. These solutions are trending towards large scale systems-of-systems architectures, which elements that need to interact in real-time. Additionally, integration and interoperability of space-based solutions with air defence systems, the European space and air shield initiatives and national missile defence architectures is a fundamental aspect. In this context, we are looking for an experienced technical lead for the role of product owner in the simulator development team.



Your Tasks



  • Drive the creation of technical concepts and requirements for the simulator

  • Manage and prioritize the software engineering tasks and backlog

  • Ensure the information flow between the software team and other stakeholders, working in an international team of experts

  • Control technical progress, schedule, cost and quality in close collaboration with the project manager

  • Identify, control and reduce software product risks

  • Lead the control and evaluation of changes that impact the scope, budget, or timeline of the project

  • Prepare and conduct technical reviews and support project milestone reviews


Your Qualifications



  • Degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or comparable qualification

  • Experience with distributed simulation frameworks (HLA), and with system-of-systems simulation is a plus

  • Ideally several years of professional experience in defence-related simulator developments

  • Experience with applicable NATO standards and processes, and/or knowledge of related process standards from adjacent fields (such as ECSS-E-ST-40C and ECSS-Q-ST-80C or DO-178B)

  • Strong competence in self-organizing and work planning

  • High motivation, pro-active working approach, and strong sense of responsibility

  • Strong competence in working in a multicultural team

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills

  • Ability and willingness to achieve a German security clearance

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English
