Establish, maintain and lead the execution of qualification plans for optics, electrooptics, mechanisms, electronics and photonics equipment for space applications

Detailed description and responsibilities:
 Support Quality and Engineering Teams in definition of Qualification Status Lists
and identification of qualification gaps
 Establish and maintain qualification plans for optics, electro-optics, mechanisms,
electronics and photonics equipment for space applications
 Lead the execution of qualification plans for optics, electro-optics, mechanisms,
electronics and photonics equipment for space applications and ensure compliance to
applicable requirements
 Review and approve the qualification plans by external Subcontractors and ensure
compliance to internal qualification program requirements and applicable normative
documents
 Monitor the execution of the qualification plans by external Subcontractors and
confirm compliance of the results to internal qualification program requirements and
applicable normative documents
 Liaise with Material & Processes, Product Assurance, Mechanical, Electronics, Optics
and Photonics, RAMS engineers to ensure the needs of the different disciplines are
reflected in the qualification programs
 Liaise with the Configuration Control of the H/W design (Bill of Material) and H/W
Design Justification Documentation
 Support the introduction of new components/technologies by assessing technology
readiness level (TRL), qualification status, path to qualification and associated risks.
 Establish, extend and maintain a Qualification Database
 Maintain records of Surface Mounting Technologies (SMT) for space applications
(assembly of EEE on PCB)
 Maintain records of EEE Soldering Qualification for space applications at main
suppliers
 Liaise with relevant internal and stakeholders for the qualification programs of EEE
COTS
 Liaise with Thales and Thales Alenia Space Quality Engineering network to identify
synergies for the qualification programs
 Participate in internal and external design reviews
 Experience in Managing Schedule and Budget for Qualification Activities

Needed studies and experience:
 A master degree in electronics engineering, material & processes engineering,
aerospace engineering, physics;
 A 5+ years’ experience in the space industry and/ or in a similar role
Needed skills:
(mandatory)
 Familiarity with TRL assessment according to European, ESA and NASA definitions
 Familiarity with ECSS, ISO, MIL and other relevant international Standards & Norms
 Familiarity with non-destructive inspection techniques (including X-Ray Computer
Tomography, Microscopy, Dye penetrant…)
 Experience in processes qualification applied to industrialized production
• German (spoken) and/or French knowledge is an asset
