If you would like to join an organisation that have been active in the space industry for over 20 years and have been involved in numerous space missions in collaboration with NASA, ESA, CNES, and JAXA for missions to the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, and The International Space Station this Senior FPGA Engineer position could be for you.
Having previously worked within the space or aerospace industry you will be a hands on and proactive FPGA Engineer with experience managing projects. In return you will lead a team of highly skilled individuals who foster innovation and creativity every day and who are motivated to solve tasks and challenges.
What you will be doing…
In the frame of developments for space applications, you will be responsible for:
• Managing several space projects
• You will manage and be supported by a small team of FPGA Engineers
• Image compression algorithms implemented in FPGAs, like H.264 or H.265
• H.265 or H.264 VHDL IP proof of concept
• NAND controller in VHDL with light file system and bad blocks management
• Validation with VUnit of SpaceWire IP according to ECSS-E-ST-50-12
Who you are…
• An FPGA expert with at least 5 years’ experience in space, aerospace, or defence looking for a hands-on management position.
• You will have a degree in a relevant STEM subject (or equivalent experience.)
• You will have experience with safety critical code in a space, aviation, or defence capacity
• You will have a good knowledge of FPGA design and/or verification
• You will have proficiency in VHDL
• You will have a strong knowledge of ECSS/DO254/IEC 61508
• You will be an English speaker
Additional skills which may support your application (but are not required)…
• Experience on synthesis and place and route
• Experience on timing closure
• Experience on SoC
• Knowledge of VUnit framework
• Good knowledge of GIT
• Knowledge of Microsemi/Xilinx FPGAs and their tools (Libero and Vivado)
• Knowledge of virtualization (docker)
• Knowledge of high speed link
