Materials & Processes Engineer to work for a leading Space manufacturer.

Tasks include:

• Focus will be on technical risk mitigation and assurance concerning materials and processes applied in the next generations of optical instruments.
• Responsible for the assessment of material and process suitability
• You will be part of the technical support teams in case of non-conformance's or proposal evaluation
• You will regularly take part in technical reviews regarding materials and processes for the building blocks of future, smart space solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD/Masters in Materials science, Metallurgy, Mechanical engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a comparable qualification
• Several years experience in the area of Materials and Processes in the space industry
• Experience in aerospace, especially in MMPP (materials, mechanical parts & processes) related activities
• Interdisciplinary mindset, independent and forward-looking way of working
• Flexibility, a high sense of responsibility, as well as the ability to work in an international team
• Confident personality and good negotiation skills
• Willingness to travel on business
• Fluent English and ability to communicate in German.

Optional Skills

• Knowledge of the applicable ECSS-ST-Q-70 standards
• Experience with optical instruments
• French language
