Position: System Engineer
About the company: Netherlands-based company specialising in cutting-edge space technology. Their diverse product lines contribute to the advancement of space exploration on a global scale. As a System Engineer, you will play a vital role in the technical development of space products, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
Your Role: The System Engineer serves as the technical lead for the development of space products. Working closely with the Core Team (Program Manager, Product Owner, and Product Assurance Engineer), you will oversee the overall design, analysis, tests, verifications, and qualifications. From the preliminary phases to development, procurement, assembly, and testing, your expertise will guide the project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review customer documents and execute design choices
• Support project schedule and associated budget
• Perform functional analysis and system development tasks
• Review mechanical designs, structural, and electronics design
• Create documents for data packages for various reviews
• Support supply chain and production departments with technical content
• Create test procedures and coordinate with the Test Department
• Provide technical support to production during test phases
Essential Skills:
• BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field
• Working experience in a System and/or Expert Engineering role in a high-technology, multidisciplinary industry
• Knowledge of space components & systems, mechanical engineering (structural and thermal), and assembly integration and test engineering
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Proficiency in technical English (C2)
Strongly Valued/Desired Skills:
• Experience in the spaceflight industry, preferably as a satellite equipment supplier
• Knowledge of ECSS and Space Design Process Flow
• Familiarity with the current technology status and market related to spaceflight components
• Driving license and willingness to travel on an occasional basis
