About:
We are seeking a Purchasing & Procurement Engineer to join our space sector client in the Netherlands. Join a leading company in the space industry, specialising in Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS), Propulsion, Avionics, and Thermal solutions for spacecraft.
The role:
The Purchasing & Procurement Engineer is responsible for all primary processes related to production and facility needs relating to Purchasing & Procurement Management.
This includes supporting the primary process:
Prioritization of tasks to achieve objectives.
Making sure of the capabilities of the selected supplier to achieve Project objectives.
Challenging internal customers and external suppliers regarding flow down of requirements, planning, cost and quality.
Proposing the best utilization (optimization) of the unused stock in a monthly stock plan.
Purchasing skills and negotiation of contracts with suppliers.
Budgetary results are reported to the Site Director and the Operations Office Manager monthly.
Key responsibilities of the Purchasing & Procurement Engineer:
Responsible for an effective purchasing and procurement process :
Supporting the Risk Management Process for Supplier selection
Record the need and propose an acquisition strategy
Send RFQ to suppliers
Evaluate the suppliers response and negotiate with the selected ones
Prepare and send the PO/Contract
Logistics
Procurement:
Manage supplier deliverables per PO/Contract up to the acceptance of delivered goods
Assess the supplier performance
Assess the Purchasing & Procurement performance
Develop and maintaining of a good long term supplier relationship
Responsible for lead time, Long Term Agreements with Suppliers, (new) supplier selection and rating and identification of a 2 nd source supplier strategy
Inventory Management:
Leading the Warehouse team
Managing the Company and Projects stock
Executing of the MOQ plan
Creating the Monthly stock plan
Managing the Critical items (due date related)
Managing the refurbishment of articles with expiration dates without impact for the Company
Essential skills:
Accuracy
Proficiency in Dutch (mandatory)
Proficiency in English (B2)
Mechanical Background and ability to read drawings
Working experience with a ERP system using MRP
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency in MS office
Structured and efficient way of working but flexible
Strongly valued/desired skills:
Experience in the procurement of Mechanical parts
Experience in procurement of high-level Electronic parts
Driving license and willingness to travel on an occasional basis.
