We are recruiting a Quality & Product Assurance Manager for a pivotal new role that will shape the future of mission delivery for our client. Reporting to the Projects Director and working closely with the Executive team, you will lead the organisation’s approach to quality, product assurance and continuous improvement, ensuring missions are delivered on time, on cost and to the highest standards. This is a high‑impact leadership position where you will drive cultural change, strengthen our management systems, and develop a high‑performing QA/PA team.


Role Purpose


You will be responsible for embedding excellence in quality and product assurance, championing continuous improvement, and ensuring the business benefits from an effective, well‑governed management system. You will coach and mentor the QA/PA team, support project delivery, and act as the key interface with certification bodies, customers and internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Culture



  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance delivery performance across time, cost and quality.

  • Inspire and galvanise teams at all levels to adopt a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Lead, coach and develop the Quality & Product Assurance team to deliver high‑quality outputs and professional excellence.


Quality & Product Assurance Governance



  • Maintain and manage relationships with external certification bodies for ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO27001, ensuring ongoing certification.

  • Oversee internal audit, non‑conformance, calibration and environmental management processes.

  • Ensure process owners take full ownership of their processes, delivering effective outcomes and improvements across the business.

  • Facilitate management system reviews with the Executive team and use insights to drive strategic improvement.


Operational Delivery



  • Manage the internal audit programme and ensure findings drive improvements in mission delivery.

  • Provide product assurance engineering support to high‑assurance programmes when required.

  • Support bid teams by advising on QA/PA requirements and resource needs.

  • Interface with institutional, government and commercial customers to communicate quality and product assurance approach.

  • Report quality, product assurance and environmental metrics to the business and Executive team.


Continuous Improvement & Collaboration



  • Promote best practice across the organisation and support the introduction of new lean methods and ways of working.

  • Ensure lessons learned from previous programmes are captured and shared across the transnational 1ACMT team.

  • Support the development of training materials and methodologies for QA/PA capability growth.


Experience & Background


Essential Experience



  • Proven leadership of a quality or product assurance team, with a track record of coaching, mentoring and developing high‑performing teams.

  • Demonstrable success in driving business improvements and supporting product assurance for complex missions.

  • Approximately 5 years’ experience working within ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO27001 environments.

  • Approximately 5 years’ experience in quality systems engineering within a high‑technology development, manufacturing or test environment (space or aerospace experience advantageous).


Qualifications & Technical Skills



  • Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a technical discipline, ideally aerospace.

  • Deep understanding of ISO9001/14001 and how to apply them to achieve business success.

  • Working knowledge of ISO27001.

  • Familiarity with space industry QA/PA standards (e.g., ECSS, IPS) is an advantage.

  • Strong organisational, planning and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
