Our client, a new space company in North West Spain are looking for an AIV & Systems Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.

You will work in different nanosatellite missions within the System and AIV Engineering Area of the company. This area is responsible for carrying out all the tasks related to the extraction of requirements from the users and the transformation of them into a final product, the design of space systems, its integration and final verification, including all needed tests. You will also be involved in the evolution of the nanosatellite predefined platforms.

Tasks:

• Analysis of the necessities of the users/customers and the elaboration of several mission concepts that match their requirements.
• Design and definition of architectures for the space systems that will enable the implementation of the previously proposed mission concepts.
• Analysis of the performance of the system in terms of power, communications capabilities, mass, etc.
• Selection of the physical components that will implement the selected architecture.
• Preparing and definition of the AIV procedures at system and subsystem levels.
• Participation in the manufacturing and validation campaigns.
• Specification of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Executing of AIV tests in a clean room environment.
• Participating in environmental test campaigns (thermal-vacuum and vibration).
• Identifying and solving anomalies using product assurance standards (e.g, root cause analysis)
• Preparing test reports.

Qualification:

• The candidate must have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Telecommunication or equivalent engineering degree.
• The applicant must be fluent in English.
• Knowledge of System Engineering discipline and ECSS standards.
• Experience on the utilization of electronic testing equipment: power sources, oscilloscopes, signal generators/analysers… etc.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of technical analysis tools: ESATAN, SPENVIS, STK, Matlab/Simulink.
• Knowledge of certain tools for model / testing development: embedded C, C++, Java, Python, Bash.
• Experience in the integration of systems and in component validation/qualification.
• Experience in working in clean room and EPA (Electrostatic Protection Area) environments.
• Experience in using tools and equipment for spacecraft components integration (GSE equipment).
• The applicant must have good communication skills and must be able to work autonomously in an effective manner; while cooperating in a potentially international and culturally diverse team.
• Moreover, the applicant must have good analytical, organizational and reporting skills; together with a proactive attitude to solve problems individually and an interest in technology development.
